Duplicate RC Download – Get a Duplicate Vehicle Registration Certificate

A Duplicate RC is a replacement copy of your vehicle’s Registration Certificate (RC) issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in India. The RC proves that your vehicle is legally registered and includes important details like the registration number, chassis number, engine number, and owner’s information. If your original RC is lost, damaged, stolen, or unreadable, you can apply for a duplicate copy. After it is issued, you can complete the Duplicate RC Download process online, where available, and use it just like the original Registration Certificate.

Through Parivahan Sewa portal apply for a duplicate Registration Certificate (RC) online. This online service allows you to apply for a duplicate RC without visiting the RTO office, helping you save time and effort. Follow these steps:

• Visit to official transport services website and click on Vehicle Related Services.
• Select the state from the list. You will redirected to transport services.
• Enter your vehicle registration number and proceed.

• Click on “Services” then RC Related Services. Click on Transfer of Ownership, Change of Address, Hypothecation (Addition/Continuation/Termination), or Duplicate RC.

• Enter your Vehicle Registration Number and Chassis Number click on “Verify Details”.

• Enter your OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Click on “Duplicate RC”.

• Enter required details like owner details, vehicle details and reason for applying.
• Pay the required fees using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
• Click on Submit. You will receive application reference number to track status.

In many states, the process may take 15 to 30 days. After approval, you can download the digital RC through DigiLocker or the mParivahan. Some RTOs may also send the duplicate RC smart card to your registered address.

To apply for a duplicate RC you need to submit these documents. The required document help the transport department verify vehicle ownership. These documents are important for application process:

• Form 26: This form is needed if you’re applying for a duplicate RC. You can get it from the Parivahan Sewa website or get it from local RTO.
• FIR Copy (If RC is Lost or Stolen): If your RC is lost, you must submit a copy of the FIR filed at the nearest police station.
• Affidavit (If Required): In some cases, you may need to submit an affidavit explaining the reason for applying for a duplicate RC.
• Identity Proof: Valid government ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, or voter ID.
• Address Proof: Address proof such as Aadhaar card, electricity bill, passport, or bank statement.
• Vehicle Insurance Certificate: A valid insurance policy is required for application.
• Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate: Valid PUC certificate may be required in many states.
• Challan Clearance: Clearance certificate from the traffic police.
• Tax Payment Proof: In some states latest road tax payment receipt may be required.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): If the vehicle is registered in another state or under loan transfer, an NOC may be required.
• Chassis Number Imprint: Some RTOs may ask for a physical chassis imprint of the vehicle for verification.
• PAN Card or Form 60/61: As applicable, for tax purposes.

To track Application Status follow these steps:

• Visit to official transport services portal-https://parivahan.gov.in Portal.
• Open the Online Services and choose Vehicle Related Services.
• Select your state and click Proceed.
• In Menu, click on Status and select Know Your Application Status.

• Add the required details and fill captcha code, then click Submit.
• Your application status is show on screen.

• Lost or Missing RC: The original RC has been lost or stolen and is no longer available for use.
• Damaged RC: The RC is torn, faded, or damaged, making the information difficult to read.
• Completely Destroyed RC: The RC has been destroyed due to fire, water damage, or other accidents.
• Wrong Information in RC: The RC contains incorrect owner or vehicle details, such as an incorrect chassis number or manufacturing year.
